JAKARTA – The issues of environmental degradation and forest fires, which have been a concern throughout 2026, have prompted various groups to play a role in conservation efforts. One such effort comes from the medical device industry.
PT Revass Utama Medika (Revass) organized a mangrove planting campaign in coastal areas through the Revass Green Movement initiative, which involved dozens of company employees.
Although it operates in the medical device distribution sector, Revass views environmental responsibility as an integral part of the company’s commitment to improving people’s quality of life.
Revass Operating Director Aditya Bagus Yunanda believes the business world has opportunities to contribute to the environment without having to wait for a direct connection to its business activities.
“We are indeed active in the healthcare sector, particularly in supporting the management of catastrophic illnesses in Indonesia. However, we believe that companies also have a moral responsibility toward environmental sustainability,” said Aditya.

He added that efforts to protect nature don’t always have to involve grand gestures.
“While many are struggling to combat forest fires, we’ve chosen to contribute in our own way. We aren’t putting out fires, but we can help preserve life by planting and caring for mangroves,” he said.
This program is part of the company’s CSR activities and supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly climate action and the conservation of coastal ecosystems.
In addition to helping protect the coastline from erosion, mangroves serve an important ecological function as a habitat for coastal wildlife and as a carbon sink.
For Revass, this initiative marks the first step toward fostering employee engagement in the company’s sustainability agenda.
Through the Revass Green Movement, the company aims to demonstrate that concern for human health and environmental conservation can stem from a shared commitment: preserving life.
